Production Engineering Manager

Job Description:

As Production Engineering Manager you will be responsible for managing PCX's Engineering function to develop integrated electrical and mechanical systems, for the commercial construction industry, in compliance with the NEC (National Electric Code) and U. L. requirements. This includes large custom built enclosures and skid based systems to house electrical switchgear for power equipment centers used in the renewable energy and industrial markets. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in managing multiple concurrent projects, as well as the ability to lead PCX's Engineering function to develop cost effective designs utilizing Autodesk Inventor™ 3D solid modeling, or equivalent. In addition, this position requires a good working knowledge of electrical equipment integration and mechanical design from both a structural standpoint and sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities:
  • Achieve corporate revenue and profitability objectives
  • Lead the Engineering function to successfully develop cost effective solutions (DFM) that meet the customer specifications, schedule requirements and cost objectives
  • Insure all designs are in compliance with NEC and are U. L. code compliant
  • Utilize value engineering principles to achieve cost reductions opportunities by identifying alternative designs and/or materials for continuous improvement
  • Initiate and manage cross functional DFMEA activities for new projects
Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science Degree — Electrical or Mechanical, advanced degree a plus
  • Five (5) plus years in a Supervisory position in an Engineering project management function
  • Experience in the integration of electrical and mechanical systems for custom applications
  • Design experience as it relates to commercial MEP construction
  • A minimum of five (5) years of 3D solid modeling — Inventor or Revit a plus
  • Design experience of fabricated sheet metal products
  • Good working knowledge of NEC, UL, and ETL for both low and medium voltage applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills for developing and functioning in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a ISO9001 and ERP environment

Project Engineer

Job Description:

PCX is looking for a full time experienced Project Engineer to manage programs from the initial customer interface, contract award and through the final project completion. Successful candidates will be required to review customer specifications, prepare project quotes, and interface with Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing to successfully complete projects on time and within budget. Duties will include but not be limited to material/labor estimating, system design and layout, production support, and the management and coordination of multiple projects. Additional duties will include development of project schedules, reporting on project status, along with maintaining an Action Item Log and insuring tasks are completed in a timely manner. Experience in electrical power distribution and commercial construction is a plus. This position will represent the company when interfacing with associates, customers and suppliers, so excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Qualifications:
  • BSEE, BSME or technical degree required
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and specifications
  • Experience in working with the NEC
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD Inventorâ„¢ (2D and 3D) and Microsoft Project
  • Experience in the successful project management of complex electrical mechanical projects
  • Experience in electrical power distribution
  • Estimating skills
  • Experience in ISO9001 and ERP operating environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in a project engineering role

  • Identify opportunities in new markets and drive revenue growth through strong customer relationships
  • Effectively communicate information exchange for timely Proposal/Bid/Quotes
  • Demonstrate active involvement in all aspects of the sales cycle
  • Manage accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and positive bottom line results
  • Some overnight travel required
Key Qualifications:
  • Four (4) year Bachelors degree, preferably in a technical or business discipline
  • Five (5) plus years sales experience in a manufacturing or technical field
  • Experience in selling electrical power distribution equipment a plus
  • A demonstrated record of success and achievement in prior sales positions
  • Proven ability to build strong business relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
