PCX Corporation Expands Manufacturing Capacity for Prefabricated Modular Data Centers
RALEIGH, N.C. (October, 2017) – PCX Corporation is pleased to announce it has opened a second manufacturing facility in Smithfield, North Carolina, to meet its growing demand for modular data centers. The new facility will add approximately 45,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and be used to perform final equipment assembly, electrical integration and factory witness testing, of major systems for the modular data center industry. Smithfield, NC was chosen because of its close proximity to Interstate I-95 allowing access to the country’s major data center corridor in Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia. PCX will continue to manufacture prefabricated electrical power distribution centers, its FLX-Power™ custom integrated switchboards and skid based solutions, at its Pony Farm facility located in Clayton, North Carolina.

Fast Growing SE Town Expands Waste Water Treatment Capacity for Future Growth
RALEIGH, N.C. (May, 2017) – PCX Corporation is pleased to announce its participation in the expansion of the Terrible Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant in Fuquay-Varina, NC.
The visionary state of the art expansion will include a new effluent pump station, pretreatment, biological nutrient removal, clarification, filtering, ultraviolet disinfection, and appropriate buildings for storage, operation, maintenance, and administration. The construction team chose prefabricated, modular construction for its inherent advantages of higher quality control, shorter lead time, environmental benefits, and cost savings. Two PCX FLX–PEC™ Prefabricated Power Equipment Centers will be attached on site to become the new Powerhouse. Operation Equipment includes Low Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, Soft Starters, Variable Speed drives and PLC Control with extensive automation and control using Human Interface.

PCX Is Pleased to Announce Shipment of Backup Powerhouse to the Southeast Data Center Market
January, 2017 Raleigh, NC – PCX Corporation shipped a modular 600kW 2N UPS backup powerhouse to be employed in a facility expansion by a growing southeast eCommerce and Cloud solution provider. The modular powerhouse contained two (2) 600kW UPS systems housed in a modular enclosure measuring 50 feet long by 11.5 feet wide and 11 feet high. The system is supported by two (2) 51kW CRAC units to maintain and control the powerhouse temperature for the backup batteries. The entire system was built at PCX’s manufacturing facility in Clayton, NC and factory tested prior to shipment. The modular approach was utilized to minimize construction activity on site and shorter leadtimes.

PCX Ships First of Several Energy Storage Systems to Aliso Canyon
October 2016 – PCX Corporation ships the first of several battery storage systems to support the Aliso Canyon energy crisis in Southern California. The battery storage system was designed and equipped with battery storage racks, requisite controls, fire suppression and sophisticated cooling to support several megawatts of energy storage. Each system is comprised of four (4) prefabricated sections measuring approximately 30 feet in length, 9 feet in width and 11 feet in height, and will undergo final assembly at the site. The prefabricated modular solution was chosen due its inherent advantage of fast deployment, as well as the standard and consistent quality associated with a ISO9001:2008 manufacturing environment. The entire program was “fast tracked” and was designed and fabricated within 100 days from the initial order receipt to the first shipment.

March 2016 – PCX Corporation ships a modular 1.5 MW – UPS backup powerhouse for a new modular data center to be used by a major Southern California school district. The modular powerhouse contained two (2) 750kW UPS systems housed in a modular enclosure measuring 60 feet long by 13 feet wide and 11 feet high. The system also included two (2) 750kva transformers, security and three (3) 10 ton HVAC units to maintain and control the powerhouse temperature for the backup batteries. The entire system was built at PCX’s manufacturing facility outside of Raleigh, NC and completed a full factory witness test prior to shipment. The modular approach was utilized to minimize construction activity on the school campus and was necessary because of the small site footprint.

PCX Corporation Ships High Performance Modular Data Center System to Major University in Northeastern United States
RALEIGH, N.C. (December, 2015) – PCX is pleased to announce that they just recently shipped a high performance modular data center system to a major university in the northeastern United States. The system was a standalone modular data center equipped with a 375kW UPS system designed for nine (9) minutes of full load run time, FM200 fire suppression, and capable of housing 17 racks, at up to 20kW per rack. The cooling for the system included rear door heat exchangers for the individual racks and “in-row” cooling to maintain equipment temperature, all supported by an external 120-ton N+1 chiller system. The entire system was delivered complete from design to install in under 18 weeks.
