Past Professional Construction Services President Joins PCX Corporation Board
Bob Strickland brings strong engineering and management experience to position.
RALEIGH, N.C. (July 25, 2015) PCX Corporation, a leading provider of prebuilt electrical and mechanical solutions, has named Bob Strickland to its board of directors. Strickland is president of RSS Services, a construction-consulting firm he founded after retiring as president of PCS, Inc., one of Northeast Ohio’s leading construction management firms with offices in Ohio and West Virginia. As a LEED accredited professional, Strickland provides value-added design and construction phase services to clients. LEED is said to be the most widely used green building rating system.
“I am honored to join the PCX board, and look forward to bringing my industry knowledge to that position. Offsite fabrication of building systems is being investigated in all areas of commercial and industrial construction. PCX provides offsite fabrication solutions for power distribution, motor controls, HVAC equipment, and data centers that add value in terms of innovation, expedited delivery, and consistent quality, which saves time and money. I look to advocate and enhance PCX’s presence in the marketplace, leveraging my industry knowledge to advance business development and process improvements at PCX.”
Much of Strickland’s career was spent as a sales engineer for Cutler Hammer, as a senior project engineer for Gilbane Building Company, and as Operations Manager of Carbone Construction. During his seven years at Carbone, Strickland was responsible for sub-contracting, and oversaw the construction of more than $70 million worth of projects throughout Northeast Ohio.
Strickland currently serves as a trustee of the University Circle United Methodist Church where he is overseeing a $2 million historic restoration project, and as a member of the City of Cleveland Landmarks Commission. He also is a past member of the Cleveland Restoration Society, past president of the Ohio Chapter of the Construction Managers Association of America, and past co-chair of the Construction Employer’s Association legislative committee.
Strickland was appointed by former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland to represent the state’s construction management industry as a voting member on the Ohio Construction Reform Panel. The OCRP report issued in April of 2009 served as the foundation for legislation that enabled reforms in bidding public capital improvement projects throughout the state.
“It is a real privilege to know Bob. I admire his commitment to family, community, and his desire to build high quality performance teams. His experience in the construction industry, along with his LEED accreditation will be of great value to PCX. His participation can only enhance our industry lead position in prefabrication and cost savings for construction projects in North America and around the world.”
—Rocco Di Lillo, Chairman of PCX Corporation.
Bob and Kathy, his wife of 39 years, live in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. They appreciate the close proximity to restaurants, Progressive Field, and their beloved Cleveland Indians. The Stricklands also enjoy time with their children and giving back to their community and church in the form of mission work. They recently returned from their first mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
